Sea salt is one of the best ingredients for skin care, particularly foot care, as it help to hydrate and exfoliate the skin, soothe itching, reduce inflammation, aches and pains, increases circulation and speeds healing of wounds.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Make a sea salt foot scrub which can be used daily to remove and prevent calluses and rough skin on the feet. To prepare your scrub, combine 1 cup of sea salt, 1/2 cup of baking soda, 1 cup of grapeseed oil and 15 drops of peppermint oil. Stir the ingredients and store them in a glass jar with a tight fitting lit. Massage the scrub onto damp feet and then rinse with warm water.
Step2
Enjoy a foot soak to help soothe sore, aching feet after a long hard day. Simply warm enough water to fill a plastic tub and add 1/2 cup of sea salts. Rest your feet in the warm water and soak for 15 minutes.
Step3
Soak your feet in a skin softening sea salt remedy, perfect for preparing the skin, cuticles and nails for a pedicure. Combine the juice of half a large lemon, 4 tbsp. of olive oil, 1/2 cup of whole milk or buttermilk, 1/2 cup boiling water and 1/4 cup of sea salts in a plastic tub. Soak your feet in the mixture for 15 minutes and then groom your feet with a pumice stone, trim your toe nails and/or give yourself a pedicure.
Step4
Cure athlete's foot and treat nail fungus with a healing sea salt soak. Because sea salts increase skin absorption and circulation, this soothing remedy speeds the healing of fungal infections which affect the feet. Combine 1/2 cup of sea salts, 20 drops of tea tree oil and warm water in a plastic tub and soak your feet for 15 minutes, twice daily. Athlete's foot should clear within 2 or 3 weeks; however, tough nail fungus may require weeks or even months of treatment.
