Making paper snowmen is a great craft project for your preschooler to do on a snowy day. It's an easy project to do because it requires very few supplies and most of them are things you probably already have on hand.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Card stock paper
  • Scissors
  • White and/or colored construction paper
  • Crayons or markers
  • Craft glue
  • Buttons or sequins
  1. Step 1

Draw a snowman template on a thick piece of card stock paper. You can draw a simple three-circle snowman or get more creative and add arms. Draw extra accessories like a hat, scarf and mittens separately.

  2. Step 2

Cut out the snowman template and trace it onto white paper to cut out as many snowmen as you like. Cut out the accessories templates and trace them onto white or colored construction paper.

  3. Step 3

Color in the accessories. Have your children color and decorate their own hats, scarves and mittens for their snowmen. They can add extras to their scarves and hats like sequins, buttons or ribbons to make them more personal and unique to their tastes.

  4. Step 4

Attach the accessories to your snowman with craft glue.

  5. Step 5

Decorate your snowman's face. Draw his eyes, nose and mouth with markers or use more buttons and sequins to give him a three dimensional appearance.

Tips & Warnings
  • Turn your snowman into a greeting card and send it to a friend far away. Simply glue the completed snowman onto another piece of card stock paper. Then fold the piece of paper in half so the snowman is on the outside. Write a greeting on the inside.
  • Keep a close eye on a young child while he's using scissors.
