Image preview in Adobe Fireworks CS3 can be used to compare different optimization settings applied to the same image. After you have viewed the differences, you can then decide how you want to optimize your final image.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Adobe Fireworks CS3
  1. Step 1

Start Adobe Fireworks CS3 and open a document from your file that contains an image that you would like to optimize using the image preview.

  2. Step 2

Choose "Image Preview" from the File menu to open the Image Preview dialog box.

  3. Step 3

Pick a preview window at the bottom of your Image Preview dialog box to view the image in one window, two windows or four windows. The first of these three buttons is the fifth option from the left of the options that are under the image preview.

  4. Step 4

Click to select one of the preview windows so you can optimize that image.

  5. Step 5

Select a format and quality from the "Format" and Quality" drop-down lists on the upper left side of the Image Preview dialog box. The changes will be displayed in the text above or below the image. You will also be able to see the changes in the preview of the image.

  6. Step 6

Repeat Step 4 and Step 5 for any other preview windows. Be sure to choose different settings for your other preview windows so you can compare the differences in optimization.

  7. Step 7

Select the image that is using the optimization settings you want to apply to the image. Click the "OK" button to close the Image Preview dialog box and return to your optimized image.
