How to Display Twitter Tweets on a Blog

Twitter is a social media tool available to bloggers. Bloggers use Twitter posts, also known as "tweets," to network with other bloggers, promote their own blogs and extend the overall conversation in their niche. A blogger can even display Twitter tweets on a blog using a Twitter badge or the Twitter Tools plug-in for WordPress.

Instructions

    Using a Twitter Badge

  1. Step 1

    Visit the Twitter badges webpage. If you're not already logged into Twitter, log in now.

  2. Step 2

    Select the appropriate blog type. If your blog platform isn't listed, select "Other."

  3. Step 3

    Choose a badge layout and design scheme, and any other options you want. Depending on your blog platform, you may have different layout and design options.

  4. Step 4

    Copy the code Twitter provides to your clipboard. Insert the code into your blog template as Twitter instructs.

  5. Step 5

    Send a tweet and reload your blog's webpage to verify that Twitter Tools is installed.

  6. Using the Twitter Tools WordPress Plug-in

  7. Step 1

    Visit the Twitter Tools WordPress Plug-in webpage. Download and expand the file.

  8. Step 2

    Upload the file "twitter-tools.php" to the wp-content/plugins/ folder on your blog server.

  9. Step 3

    Open the WordPress "Plug-ins" page in your Administration panel. Click "Activate" on Twitter Tools.

  10. Step 4

    Set your Twitter account information and your plug-in preferences on the Twitter Tools options page in your Administration panel.

  11. Step 5

    Send a tweet and reload your blog's web page to verify that Twitter Tools is installed.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can also use the Twitter Tools WordPress plug-in to update Twitter each time you publish a blog post.
