It isn't always to make it through the cuts of college basketball try outs. However, you can use certain things and techniques to get yourself on a basketball team and enjoy playing for the year. College basketball is a competitive sport, so the coach will be looking for the very best players. Learn how to play college basketball and score a basket for your team.

  1. Step 1

    Speak to the coaches and tell them why you want to play for the college team. Express to them your dedication to basketball and how motivated you are to be on a winning team.

  2. Step 2

    Talk to your high school basketball coach and see if he can mention to the college coaches what a valuable player you are. The more support you get from your old coaches and team members, the more chances you will have of getting accepted onto a college team.

  3. Step 3

    Practice as much as you can for the try outs and once you make the cut, train as much as possible. Be good in your game and keep your energy up. Show your dedication.

  4. Step 4

    Take the initiative and get in touch with college basketball recruiters. Don't wait for them to find you. Invite them to some of your basketball games so they can see your skill level for themselves.

  5. Step 5

    Go to open try outs and walk on to the college games if you did not make the team immediately. You can then get more experience and show off your skills. Then you can try out again when you have trained enough.
