How to Make a Room Look Nerdy

Making your room look nerdy may seem like an easy task, but you need to follow certain rules if you want to perfect your nerdy décor. It takes much more than a few Star Trek posters to get the look, so if you're ready to give your room a nerdy look, get out your pocket protectors and start decorating.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Stop cleaning. You spend way too much time surfing the Web for Xbox cheat codes to bother with cleaning and making your bed. Throw your shirts on the floor when you take them off, and always leave a few empty soda cans lying around for effect. The room should have an odd smell of dirty gym socks and WD-40.

  2. Step 2

Pimp out your computer. Anyone can buy a computer off the shelf, but it takes a real nerd to build a computer out of something truly geeky. Install your CPU components into a Millennium Falcon replica or a full-size R2-D2 figure. A huge computer monitor is also a must; it should be the focal point of the room.

  3. Step 3

Decorate the walls and ceiling with nerd flair. The periodic table isn't just for classrooms anymore. Pin up posters of your favorite SF or fantasy characters, and make sure to include one of a scantily clothed Scully, Princess Leia, or Seven of Nine.

  4. Step 4

Display your action figures and collectibles. If you want a really nerdy look, you have to show off all your geek loot. Hang shelves all over the room to showcase your Star Wars, Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica figures. Leave them in the boxes, of course, so they don't lose their value.
