How to Have Good Handwriting

The way a person writes can tell a lot about the person and his personality. Having sloppy, unreadable handwriting can be a sign of a sloppy person who may not care if others can read what they write or not. However, anyone can have good writing with practice.

Instructions

    • 1

Buy a nice pen that you will feel comfortable holding. Some pens have grips that will comfort your hand while you write. Try a few pens in the store before you decide which one you would like to buy.

    • 2

Lighten your grip. Sometimes gripping the pen too hard will cause you to have bad handwriting.

    • 3

Practice writing writing words in different ways. By writing a word in several different ways, you will be able to discover a style that you like and looks nice on paper.

    • 4

Hire a writing coach if you are having trouble developing good handwriting skills on your own. There are calligraphy and writing teachers at most craft stores.

    • 5

Review how you are holding the pen as you write. You may be holding the pen incorrectly and this may be stopping you from having good handwriting.

    • 6

Sit up straight. Having good posture will also help with your writing skills and allows your arm to move as it should during the writing process.
