Things You'll Need:
- salmon fillet
- olive oil, salt, pepper, oregano, paprika, garlic salt
- barbecue grill
-
Step 1
The first thing to do is buy fresh salmon fillet from your grocery store or fish market. Wild Alaskan salmon is preferable, as it is higher in healthy omega-3 fats.
-
Step 2
Season your salmon by lightly spraying or brushing a little olive oil to the top of the fillet. Add salt and pepper, oregano, and a touch of paprika followed by an even lighter touch of garlic salt.
-
Step 3
Place the fillet on the grill, skin side facing down. After 7 to 8 minutes on a charcoal grill, try to place the spatula between the skin and the fillet. If the skin can be easily separated from the fillet, then lift fillet from skin and allow the now exposed side to cook directly on the grill for another minute or so. Then flip the fillet over and allow the other side to cook for 3 or 4 minutes. The fillet should start to flake when it is nearly done. Then, just flip over once more and allow the opposite side (the one previously covered with skin) to cook for one more minute. Then remove from grill and enjoy.
