This article will touch upon how to overcome some of the struggles artists have breaking through with making artwork.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Passion,Dedicated focus, discipline and a desire to learn more about yourself.
Step1
First you must recognize that something inside you is trying to express itself and can't find a way out. This thing inside you is your voice and it needs to break through your limitations to fulfill it's potential. The most common pattern I have observed with artist who haven't broken through with their art work are those who do not put their hand in the process everyday. It is vital that you place some of your attention on your practiced art form everyday.
Analogy for breaking through:

A group of wayward travelers cross paths one day on their journey. They find a great synchronicity in who they are in relation to each other and decide they no longer wish to travel but decide they would all like to stay together and live out the rest of their lives dedicated to each other in the beautiful jungle.
The travelers have made the first realization. They have found something truly valuable and fulfilling in there lives and know they want to keep this community because they feel at home with it. The first problem they collectively face is that they are in a strange land and don't know where the best place to build their homes are. They will need a place close to the water for easy access and they want to make sure they can be in a spot that will be well defended from people or beasts that wish to cause them harm. These are just a few of the initial concerns. So, the group of people start to investigate and talk about their visions and dreams of the right place to live and what they will practically need to secure the foundation of the community. So everyday each person goes out into the jungle and searches for water, land with that can be defended and cultivated for making food. After each days search they report to each other what they saw and what they think about the potential of these new found places. After a month of searching around the jungle the group has decided on where the best location is. This is a new phase of the groups dynamic and a whole new level of questions and concerns arise. To make a long story short they work every day on figuring out how they will live together and on the land in a better more peaceful functional way. After working out a lot of issues the group comes to a collective understanding of how things work and live within the harmony of this new understanding.

This analogy is meant to illustrate the process of an individuals personal breakthrough with their own artwork. Read step 2 to find out how!
Step2
In step one we read an analogy that I would like to explain its significance for your own personal breakthrough as an artist.

1. You are the group of wayward travelers.

2. You have found your art which is valuable to you and is your home within yourself in the world we live. The realization that you all the different faces of emotion and expression and thought(the wayward travelers) have finally found each other through the making of art where you feel most in harmony with who you are.

3. After the first crucial realization of finding yourself you now have to investigate this new and wonderful place that is you. How it is working and how to relate best with it(The jungle is the wild world of creativity that must be investigated and maintained everyday to create a harmonious flow for all the things required to sustain a direct fluid connection to your work)
Step3
The break through happens when you have worked daily to maintain the jungle of your creativity and come to know it's shapes and forms and every winding new developments. This practice of creating a strong foundation for an environment in your life to create your art with in your own mind is essential a break through. It is a break through in the fact that before you didn't have a home for your creativity now you do.

I am still working on this article. Will be edited further! Thanks for reading
