How to Find Carving Soap

How to create carvings out of good old fashion soap! Using pen and paper transfer your design to the bar to create your design.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • White Soap Bar
  • A paring knife
  • 1-2 Manicure Sticks
  • Pencil and paper
  • Newspaper to catch shavings
  1. Step 1

    Open the Ivory Soap bar allow to air out for a day or two. Without removing the entire design of the lettering, can you integrate what is already there with a new design? Such as a wave in the water?

  2. Step 2

    Transfer your design using carbon paper and a pen, begin to gently carve your design. Always cutting away from yourself. Children should not attempt to do this without adult supervision.

  3. Step 3

    Once your design is complete allow bar to rest for a day or two. Smooth out the bar's rough edges with a paper napkin.

Tips & Warnings
  • Why not transfer a design you find in a coloring book? Such as a duck, or a seagull?
  • CHILDREN SHOULD NOT ATTEMPT TO CARVE THIS OUT WITHOUT THE SUPERVISION OF AN ADULT/PARENT!
