Use side ways strokes with the mop, instead of the typical push it forward and pull it back technique.
Step2
Rationalizing step one to your mind is step two. How far could Babe Ruth, have knocked a baseball, if he had to shove his bat forward to hit the ball with the end of his bat? Swinging side ways alloys many of the muscles of your body to contribute to the job.
Step3
Pushing a mop forward and backwards relies more on arm strength with a little aid from the legs and shoulders.
Tips & Warnings
You can walk across a freshly mopped floor and leave almost zero trace of foot steps, if you can walk on the out sides of your feet. (This theory does not work if you're wearing flip flops).

Nice idea. That is probably why you see the workers in large corporations using the mop sideways. Or you can use a rag with cleaner and practice the "Karate Kid" movement, "Wash on, wash off". Smiles from an eHow author.
