How to Make a Natural Skin Cleanser

Even though I love finding great natural skin care products, I sometimes like to make my own. I use several different recipes, but this is the one I return to because it's so simple. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • 1/2 cup aloe vera gel
  • 2 tbsp. witch hazel
  • 1 tbsp. rose water
  • 2 drops lavender essential oil
  • 1 drop chamomile essential oil
  • Small bowl

Instructions

    • 1

Before you get started, make sure the container is clean by running it through the dishwasher.

    • 2

Add the aloe vera gel, witch hazel and rosewater to a small bowl. Mix gently with a small spoon.

    • 3

Carefully add lavender and chamomile essential oils. Mix gently.

    • 4

Transfer cleanser to the jar. Cap and store in a cool, dry place.

    • 5

When ready to use, smooth onto face using a circular motion, being careful to avoid the eye area. Leave it on for a minute or two and then rinse off with warm water or wipe it off with a damp wash cloth. Dot some rosewater on your face using a cotton ball and follow up with a natural moisturizer or a little olive oil.

Glad you like it! Since I wash my face with water at night, I don't need something that strong in the morning - I usually use this one in the AM.
