Step 1
Start by getting familiar with the layout of the city and surrounding area. Once you've figured out where things are, start thinking about what you'd like to do first. Food, shopping, sports, etc.

Step 2
If you're looking for some great food, check out one of the local breweries. Downtown Bend is host to a number of breweries with fabulous lunch and dinner offerings. Check out The Bend Guide for a local listing (http://www.thebendguide.com/directory-106.php). You may also want to get your food to go and walk down to the park for a picnic. Many of the brew pubs in downtown are within a couple blocks of Drake Park and the Deschutes River. Of course, you can always enjoy a nice stroll along the river afterwards if you're not up for a picnic.

Step 3
If you're looking for an great outdoor activity, check out one of the local museums. The High Desert Museum is a great adventure for the whole family. The museum offers spectacular views, wildlife, and Oregon Trail history. Check out more outdoor activities at www.visitbend.com

Step 4
After a fun filled weekend of outdoor activities, relax with a trip to one of Bend's shopping centers. The Old Mill District (www.theoldmill.com) offers a wide variety of stores and restaurants to choose from. You can also catch a movie at the cinema. The Old Mill is an excellent way to unwind and enjoy the the more urban side of Bend.
