Things You'll Need:
- Moderate to high quality steak
- 1 lb. of real butter
- salt and pepper
- 1 container of garlic powder
- Large deep skillet
-
Step 1
First you need to bring your steak ( sirlion, top sirlion, porterhouse or rib steak about 1 1/4" thick) to room temperature. Salt and pepper the steak and rub the seasoning into the streak. You can add a little onion powder if you desire.
-
Step 2
In the large deep skillet, melt 1 lb. of butter. Once all the butter is melted, reduce heat to simmer and add 3/4 cup of garlic powder. Nver let the butter begin to burn but it should brown a bit. Put the already seasoned steak into the butter and allow to cook for about 15 minutes. Make sure the steak is completely submerged. After 15 minutes, flip the steak over and allow to cook for another 15 minutes. Then reduce the heat by half and let cook 30 minutes. The steak is going to be well done but it will be vaery tender.
-
Step 3
After the 30 minutes is up, turn off the heat. Leave the pan on the burner ansd allow to sit for 10 minutes. While waiting, this is a good time to prepare any sides or set out any you have prepared earlier. Now serve and enjoy.
