Things You'll Need:
- Pen and paper
- someone you trust
-
Step 1
Create a budget. Write out a very detailed budget. While doing this, try to find out where you can cut expenses. Make a list of your expenses and plan how much money will go to what expense when you get paid.
-
Step 2
Study your budget carefully and follow it! When following your budget, try to avoid buying those things that are unnecessary. I know things may seem tempting at times, but this is where self- control comes in.
-
Step 3
Cut up all of those credit cards. This step is especially for those of us with spending problems. By having credit cards and not using them, you are helping your credit score.
-
Step 4
Have someone you trust hold money for you. Pick a certain amount of money to give to them every time you get paid. and advise them not to give it to you unless you absolutely need it. This should be included in your budget plan.
-
Step 5
Once you have exercised self- control for a while and you feel your ready, then there is no need to have anyone hold money for you. You can get the money being held for you and put it into a bank account.
-
Step 6
Continue to stick to your budget plan.
