Things You'll Need:
- A Set Of Golf Clubs
-
Step 1
Determine the distance you want to hit the shot. Sometimes it is possible to hit the green from the fairway. Other times, its best to just put yourself in the best position possible to hit a follow up shot. Determining the distance and type of shot you want to hit is half the battle.
-
Step 2
Select your club and desired ball flight. A flat arc will allow the ball to roll a great distance, and this type of shot is reccomended for flat fairways and greens. A high arc shot will typically travel farther, but will have little roll.
-
Step 3
Consider the course conditions. Wind will affect you ball flight, especially if you happen to be hitting the ball a large distance, or with a high arc. Similarly, wet grass will impair the roll of your ball. It's all about predicting the factors that will affect your shot ahead of time, and doing your best to compensate for them before they become a factor.

Step 4
Hit the shot!
