There are times when a page break needs to occur before the natural margin settings. You no longer need to wait for a page break to appear on the page or have to press the enter key many times to get to the next page.Furthermore, pressing the enter may not allow for the changes you have made. The page break could move as you add text to the page. This article will help you take the steps you need to make a permanent page break in Microsoft Word where you need to.

  4. Step 4

Observe a line across the page as this represents the forced page break you just created. You can repeat this process for each page break you need to make in a Word document. Keep in mind there will be blank space after the page break.

Press the "undo" key in the event you place the page break in an area on the page where you did not want it. The page will return to its previous state allowing you to scroll to the correct position on the page.

Tips & Warnings

  • Menus, appearance, choices and styles may vary according to the version of Microsoft Word that you are using.
