The secret to this particular guacamole recipe is Marie's Creamy Ranch Dressing. If you try to substitute, this recipe won't turn out. While at the store, pick out Haas avocados that yield slightly to the touch all over, like the give of a medium cooked steak. Do not pick ones that are hollow feeling at the skinny end or are mushy. Also, try to avoid ones that are hard as it is difficult to know if they will ripen evenly. If you are using 2 avocados for your guacamole, pick out three at the store. That way, if one turns out to be bad inside, you will have a back-up. This is especially important if you are fixing it as a party appetizer.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 ripe Haas avocados
  • onion powder
  • cayenne (red) pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Marie's ranch dressing
  • salt
  • salsa (optional if you prefer chunky guacamole)
  1. Step 1

    Peel the avocados.

  2. Step 2

Remove the cores and cut the avocados in half. Mash them with a fork in a shallow bowl until the consistency is fairly creamy.

  3. Step 3

Add one tablespoon of Marie's ranch dressing and mix thoroughly.

  4. Step 4

Dash in two shakes of onion powder and one shake of cayenne pepper. You can add more of this if you prefer the guacamole to be spicier. However, if you have any guests or family members that dislike spicy food, stick to one.

  5. Step 5

Add a tiny dash of salt and mix everything well.

  6. Step 6

Taste with a tortilla chip. I recommend Tostito's organic blue corn chips since they taste so great with this recipe. You might want to add a little more salt to taste. Add a tiny dash at a time, mixing and then tasting each time.

  7. Step 7

If you would like it chunkier, you can add a few spoonfuls of drained salsa or some chopped up onions and tomatoes. When you get it perfect, relax and enjoy!

Tips & Warnings
