Things You'll Need:
- Bowl of warm homemade taffy.
- Strong arms.
- Wax paper.
- Butter or cornstarch.
- Baking scissors.
-
Step 1
Let your cooked taffy sit until just barely cool enough to work with. If it gets to cold, put it in the oven at 350 degrees for three to four minutes.
-
Step 2
Form taffy into a couple of balls.
-
Step 3
Coat hands with butter or cornstarch to prevent sticking.
-
Step 4
Start pulling balls by using your fingertips and thumbs to pull at both ends of a taffy ball. Stop when it gets about 15 inches long.
-
Step 5
Fold over taffy and stretch out again.
-
Step 6
Repeat steps 3 and 4 until taffy becomes porous and hard to pull.
-
Step 7
Stretch taffy into a rope shape that is around 3/4 inches in diameter. Cut with greased scissors into 1 inch pieces and wrap with pieces of wax paper.
