Step1
Restore is so easy, even a cat can do it! Try this process; you will like it.
1. Before you ever do any work on any computer, the most important thing to do is to save everything important so just in case a disaster happens, you will not have lost your very important files, pictures and programs. So, do this: A. If you have vital information that cannot be replaced and you need this information, files etc, take this file or two and email them to yourself. You can set up a free email account or website just to store these files. You can go to opendiary.com and get a free account there and set it to PRIVATE and put all your private information, pictures and files in there. This is just for disaster protection. You can also email some files and pictures to yourself. If you are fortunate enough to have some jump drives or flash drives, or cds or dvds, you can save your files and pictures on those also. Now that your basic important files are safeguarded, you are ready to begin the restoration of your computer.
Step2
2. If you have XP, go to START, then go to RUN. Type in these letters in the RUN box, “rstrui”. Type in all small letters. And then press enter. This should bring up a box that says you want to restore your computer. Follow all the instructions. If you have ever used a bank ATM or store ATM, then you can use this restore program to fix your computer. All you do is answer the easy questions and you are home free. You can restore your computer back to last week, the weeks before or even to six months ago.
I have restored a computer to almost brand new using this program. Be sure and keep the computer on during the whole process. So, before starting the process, make sure your computer is plugged into the electric outlet. (If you just use your computer battery instead of plugging your computer in, you risk having the battery run out and you risk having the computer shut down in the middle of the restore process. Keep the computer on. In a short while, less than half-an-hour, your computer will finally shut itself down, and then might re-start up again. IF it does not restart, just start the computer yourself. After this is all done, your computer is restored to an earlier date in time and it will be like brand new. IF this process does not work for you, your computer will give a message that says the computer could not be restored. Do the process all over again, and use a different restore date. Most times that will work. There have been times when it cured the computer on the first try, and there have been other times, when I had to run the restore program about two times or three times before the computer was restored. To save yourself this time, when choosing a restore date, choose the oldest restore date and most times that will work the first time.
Step3
Now that you've done all the work, take a break at the beach!
Last, but not least, use your time to make another restore point in your computer. Follow the directions and create another restore point about every month or so. Sometimes the computer will create restore points automatically when you install programs or do updates. However you should not rely on those. Do the restore points yourself and then you will always be protected.
Now, go and get your files and pictures and you can reinstall them on your computer if you want to do so.
Oh, listen to the video, the song, "It's the Same Thing In Reverse"
That is what restore is, just putting your computer in reverse, and making it all better. It is kind of like antibiotics for your computer.
