Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- juice (flavors the kids like)
- ice
- ice trays
- snow cone maker (can find at a department store, fairly reasonable)
- popsicle sticks
Step1
You will want to choose juices. Some may use cool-aid (which is fine in moderation) but juice is healthier and kids do love it believe it or not.
Our favorites here are pineapple-orange, kiwi-strawberry, grape and apple. You may choose to use Gatorade or other healthy drinks as well.
Step2
Depending on how many children you have, you want to fill the trays with juice. I would say 7 cubes per child. Now here is where you decide (well the kids) what you want to make. Ice pops or slushies. If they want ice pops then put a popsicle stick in the juice. They will lay crooked but that is ok.
Step3
Freeze completely. This will take about 2-3 hours or so.
Step4
When the cubes are frozen then they can eat their popsicle or make a healthy juice slushie with the ice shaver. Delicious and healthy for the whole family. Something fun to do with the kids during the summer.
