Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Photoshop

Step1
Open Photoshop and go to 'File', scroll down and click 'Open...'
Step2
Dog in Color Locate your image and and click open. It will then appear in Photoshop.
Step3
Dog in Black and White Then go to 'Image', scroll down to 'Adjustments'. In 'Adjustments', go to 'Black and White'.

OR just use your keyboard and press Alt, Shift, Ctrl, and B
Step4
Upon opening this option, your photo will become black and white, however, you can adjust the colors that you want to be affected less or more.
Step5
Go to 'File' and click 'Save As' *Rename the file so that you don't save over the original. Then save it as DogBW, meaning Dog Black and White.

Originals are important so that you can always go back and Re-Edit the photograph.

Tips & Warnings

  • Mess around with the black and white effects and save multiple copies of the photo. Then compare them to see which you like best.
  • Last time I checked adobe.com offers free 1 month trials of their products (Photoshop).
  • I'm using Photoshop CS3, but this process should be nearly identical in previous versions of Photoshop.
