It was inevitable that eHow would dish out a new feature, and here it is, the "eHow Quick Guides." The "eHow Quick Guides" give the user a complete view of the most frequently requested topics by bundling relevant articles from eHow experts and editors with real-time information from the community.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • eHow.com

Step1
There are two parts to the "eHow Quick Guide" that can help members get the relevant information they are seeking. For starters, the "eHow Quick Guides" are always featured on the homepage of the site, so you shouldn't be able to miss it.
Step2
So, you're wondering what an "eHow Quick Guide" can do for you? As mentioned before, there are two parts to the guide. The first thing you want to know about the guides is that it packages articles in a bundled and thematic way, delivering simple and helpful content. In the past, members would have to look for information on gardening by searching for multiple specific how-to articles-- like "How to Make Compost" or "How to Start a Vegetable Garden." With the "eHow Quick Guides" being available, members can find all articles on one single page. For example, the Gardening 101 eHow Quick Guide would include multiple articles related to gardening.
Step3
The second thing you want to know about the "eHow Quick Guides" is that every guide includes social Q&A that extends the content into a conversation, giving users timely answers to their questions. Let's suppose you're reading an "eHow Quick Guide" on gardening, then there will be a module where you can ask questions about the topic you are reading about. The community can chime in with answers to your questions, or you can even provide your own answers for any questions you see in the module. It is very much a communal feature and intended for members to be able to help each other out.
Step4
For launch, eHow editors created 250 Quick Guides based on the most popular topics on the eHow.com site, but the platform will soon support a limitless number of guides. The platform allows eHow experts, professional writers, and soon, eHow members, the ability to create new "eHow Quick Guides" that package content found across the site. So, eHow members be on a sharp look out because soon enough you'll be able to create your own "eHow Quick Guides."

on 7/2/2008 Hi,

We will be improving on the product, so you will see enhancements being made. For now, you'll have to go through the homepage and when you get to the featured Quick Guide's page you'll see on the right-hand module more Quick Guides to read.

on 7/2/2008 Seems like a good idea, but is there a way to access all the quick guides? I went from the home page single article ('cause I didn't see a link to all of them there) to one of the "more quick guides" and finally at the bottom of that one it says "all eHow's quick guides." Did I miss the easy way?
