Things You'll Need:
- High school diploma or GED
- Resume
- Briefcase to carry resume in
- Nice pant or skirt suit for interview
- Ability to handle diverse individuals and stressful situations
- Willingness and ability to relocate
- Customer service experience
- Flexibility & promptness
- Professionalism & a smile!
-
Step 1
AirplaneSend your resume out to every airline you are interested in working for. Be sure to list and emphasize all prior experience that relates to being a flight attendant such as public speaking, customer service positions, military or nursing experience, anything safety related, CPR certification, foreign languages etc. Be sure to stress your willingness and readiness to relocate (Even though you might not need to they want to know you are ready and willing if need be).
-
Step 2
Once you are contacted and invited to an interview you must look the part! Confidence, professionalism, great tailored suit (basic black & white is best or neutrals), women wear hair back in bun, minimal makeup & no jewelry except for a watch,(you are required to wear one on the job & it makes you look together & prompt) and no high heels only small pumps. Men clean shave & no facial hair whatsoever & no visible tattoos. You want to look as much like a flight attendant as possible without being obvious or going overboard (do not try to pin wings on yourself) so it is easy for them to visualize you working for and representing there airline.
-
Step 3
Practice speaking in front of a crowd. At any interview for any airline you will be asked to stand up either in front of a group or a few of the interviewers and answer a question probably something like why do you want to become a flight attendant? Or if you had the chance to meet one person who would it be and why? They do this because as a flight attendant you will be in front of lots of different people everyday making announcements, answering questions etc.
-
Step 4
Remember the most important part of being a flight attendant is safety. That is your number one priority and always comes first before anything else (you will probably be asked what the most important part of being a flight attendant is).
