Things You'll Need:
- water
- large bowl
- pot for boiling water
- dried lavender
- dried daisies
- dried chamomile petals
- chamomile essential oil
- rose petals
- rose essential oil
-
Step 1
Make sure to wash your face thoroughly before your steam with a natural, pure soap. I like to use Dr. Bronners Lavender bar soap. Remember not to scrub or rub your skin, just lather it with the soap and rinse thoroughly. Keep your hair ties back with a hair-tie, headband, or head wrap.
-
Step 2
Fill a pot with water and bring it to a boil. Turn down the heat and put in your dried herbs. Cover and simmer for another 5 minutes. Pour the contents into a large bowl, don't over fill it of course, and add 10 drops of the essential oil.
-
Step 3
Drape a large towel over your head and stand, or sit if the bowl is on a table, with you head about 10-12 inches above the bowl. Do not put your face too close or the steam may be too hot. Relax and enjoy for about 5-7 minutes.
-
Step 4
Splash your face with cool water and pat dry with a clean soft towel.
