Ever wanted to make your own chicken strips, but it seemed too difficult? It's not, I just did it a few days ago and it tasted great!

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 pound of (boneless) chicken breast
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups of flour
  • vegetable oil
  • skillet, a couple inches deep
  • seasonings: lemon pepper, garlic powder, salt
  1. Step 1

Cut the chicken in strips. 1 inch to 2 inches wide is fine. Length depends on the chicken breast, it'll probably be about 5-6 inches, which is fine.

  2. Step 2

Pour vegetable oil in skillet until it's about one inch deep. Turn the stove to medium.

  3. Step 3

    Get out two bowls.

  4. Step 4

In the first, whip the eggs and milk together.

In the second bowl, mix the flour and seasonings together.
-use only a sprinkle of each seasoning.

  5. Step 5

Once the oil is heated, (sprinkle flour on it and it will bubble and pop if ready), take a chicken strip and dip it in the milk and egg bowl and then in the flour bowl. The more you repeat this, the more it will be crispy. Only once is necessary, but usually people like it dipped 2-3 times.

  6. Step 6

Very carefully, slip the chicken strip into the bubbling oil. Use a fork or something to hold on to the chicken to prevent getting burned by a possible splash or popping of oil.

Cook on each side for 5 minutes. The larger the strip, the longer it takes. Keep an eye on them, if they're dark brown, they're done. Set the cooked strip on a plate of paper towels or napkins to soak the grease up and let cool for a few minutes.

Tips & Warnings
  • mix up honey and mustard to make your own honey mustard dip for the strips, it'll taste just like honey mustard, go figure.
  • Cut off fat from the chicken strips (white fatty matter hanging on the edges)--unless you like the fat, which some people do.
  • hot oil is dangerous! Be careful. Wear rubber gloves or something over your hands if you're afraid of getting burned.
