Things You'll Need:
- Talent
- Good music
- Contacts
- Good marketing skills and a support team.
-
Step 1
Choose a rap name. Choose a rap name that stands out to the public, once you have your rap name you could use that on your cd that you will be creating.
-
Step 2
Create an image. What I mean by creating an image is branding your talent. Try show casing your rap skills and song writing skills on a demo and compilation cd's. Tell everyone you meet that you can rap and prove it to them you can do so.
-
Step 3
Work on your cd. Create your demo and make sure the quality is good. Do not choose a poor studio even if you have the best rap skills ever, still do not choose a poor studio. Use the best studio with the best recording team that the studio comes with.
-
Step 4
Market Your CD. Market yourself to the public by selling your demo to local cd carrying stores. Make sure your product is package right and your artwork on the cd is very creative. Even if you want to go digital, you still will have to have creative music to be able to have a niche for your talent
-
Step 5
Don't create the same music as every one else does. Be very creative with your music. Don't try to sound like Lil Wayne, Tupac, Camron, or JayZ. Remember the more creative you be, the more you stand out to the public.
-
Step 6
Get your music registered by ASCAP or BMI. When you write and perform your music remember to copy write and license your music so that no one can still your music.
-
Step 7
Gain as many contacts as you can. When you perform your music in a club or birthday party or etc. Try to ask any one who is at the club or party if they have any contacts that you can talk to about the music industry. Attend music seminars and research online for A and R Contacts music agents and so fourth.
