How to Make Library Paste (glue)

Ever get frustrated before or during a project because you don't have any glue? Don't be. Make your own! It's super easy! This is a great way to save money on supplies for homeschool teachers, day care operators, Sunday school teachers... you name it. Why buy glue when you can make your own?

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • 2 cups flour
  • Cold water
  • 2 tbsp alum
  • 1/2 tsp oil of cloves or wintergreen
  • Small jars
Step1
In a medium sized pan, mix the flour with enough cold water to make a thick paste.
Step2
Add 2 cups hot water. Bring to boil and stir constantly. (will be lumpy)
Step3
Add the alum and oil of cloves or wintergreen.
Step4
Whip until smooth.
Step5
Pour into small jars and seal.

Tips & Warnings

  • Keeps well does not sour!
  • Do not let young children help during the cooking process to avoid burns.
