Strawberry Pie is such a lovely dessert, perfect on a lazy, summer day or extraordinary pie to bring to an event.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • 1 cups flour
  • .5 tsp. salt
  • 1 tablespoons no calorie splenda
  • .5 c. no calorie splenda
  • .5 cup smart balance butter
  • ¼ to ½ cup of ice cold water
  • 2 tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 c water
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice
  • 6 c. strawberries
  • 2 drops red food coloring, optional
  • whipped cream

Step1
Butter- replace with Smart Balance Light Buttery Spread (entire recipe)
-137 calories per serving
-15.6 grams of fat per serving
Step2
Replace sugar and brown sugar with Splenda No Calorie (entire recipe)
-109 calories per serving
Step3
Make only the top crust with original ingredients
-167 calories per serving
-12.8 grams of fat per serving
Step4
Make the top crust, replacing butter with Smart Balance Buttery Spread and sugar with Splenda no calorie
-242 calories per serving
-20.8 grams of fat per serving



Grand total
Combining all tricks together:

Half crust- just on top
Splenda throughout
Smart Balance throughout


Will equal 144 calories and 5.5 grams of fat per serving
