Things You'll Need:
- eBay Seller Account
-
Step 1
Feedback Power! ~ Never underestimate the persuasive power of feedback. Bad feedback can kill a great deal. Great feedback can make an average deal look more secure. If your feedback is low or bad, your auctions and eBay sales will suffer. Fortunately, you can build (or rebuild) your feedback easily.
-
Step 2
No or Bad Feedback? ~ Having no feedback is just as damaging as having bad feedback. But how do you gain feedback if no one is buying from you? Unfortunately, you'll have to be a buyer. Fortunately, you don't have to spend much to do it. For as little as 50 cents, you can add FIFTY-50 positive transactions to your feedback. Penny auctions are an easy and inexpensive way to improve your feedback. Look for auctions of desktop wallpaper (in the digital art category). Also, look for penny recipes. Just make sure the seller leaves feedback AND the item is delivered via email with NO SHIPPING COSTS.
-
Step 3
* Prevent Bad Feedback! ~ There are many ways to help prevent bad feedback. Of course, always follow through with the terms and conditions you promised in your auction. Another important step for EVERY eBay seller is to request dissatisfied customers contact you with their concerns PRIOR to leaving feedback. Explain that customer satisfaction is very important to you and you are thankful for the opportunity to resolve any conflict. Additionally, communicate with your buyer. Write them at the end of the auction to let them know when you will be shipping the item. Write them again when you have received payment for the item. Write them again to let them know when you have shipped the item. If you do not receive feedback from the buyer within a reasonable time, write them to make sure the item has arrived and they are satisfied with the transaction.
-
Step 4
Encourage Positive Feedback! ~ Many eBay shoppers don't understand the value of their feedback. Even if they are very pleased with the transaction, they may not think it's important to leave feedback. You can encourage positive feedback with subtle reminders to your buyers. When an item is being shipped, make mention that you have left positive feedback for them and you look forward to reading their feedback for you. Create a short, friendly page of instructions on how to leave feedback for a seller. Include those instructions when shipping the item and when contacting the buyer through eBay. If a buyer has not left feedback after a period of time, contact them specifically about the feedback. Let them know you are concerned by the lack of feedback and you just want to make sure they were satisfied with their purchase.
-
Step 5
Steps to Impress ~ Leave a lasting positive impression with your buyers. You may wish to include a Thank You card with their shipment. Even better, you may include an inexpensive FREE gift. If you have accidentally overcharged your buyer for shipping, contact them through eBay and let them know that shipping was less than you anticipated and you will be refunding part of the transaction.
-
Step 6
Keep On Top of Things ~ If you take your selling and feedback seriously on eBay, you need to keep up with your eBay inbox. Check it several times a day for messages from your buyers. A dissatisfied customer will likely follow instructions to contact you about a problem, however, they won't wait days for you to get back to them. Show your buyers you really DO care by reading and responding to their messages RIGHT AWAY!
