Be a Dream Interpreter
Be a Dream Interpreter

I love dreams. I always have. My Dad was a psychology major, so each morning if we had an odd dream - we would share it over our morning coffee. Usually, it would help determine the underlying issues.

Freud believed that understanding your dreams could bring healing.

Work on understanding your dreams and interpret them and perhaps you can do the same for friends.

The next time someone says, "I had the craziest dream last night...." you may be able to help them discern what that dream really means!!!

As a Christian I do believe there is a good healthy example of dreams and their interpretation in the Bible.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Dream dictionary
  • Journal for your dreams
  1. Step 1

REMEMBER THE DREAM - Just remember the dream as best you can. When you get up just write down everything you can remember. Get your dream dictionary and research the all of items in your dream.

Every detail is important. If there is a car in your dream - is it old? new? clean? dirty? are you driving? Are you comfortable driving it? are you on the road? through a field?

If you dream that you and your boss are riding slowly down a bumpy road in a dirty car, full of junk, your boss is driving and you feel that you're getting no where. CONSIDER THIS - You need to think of a career change. The car represents your life - it's cluttered and you're going nowhere fast and feel as if your boss is in control and not allowing you to go forward. Maybe not an option you've thought of in your waking life.

If you remember the details of your dreams it can unlock your full dreaming potential. Practice your new skills.
    These 7 details are important:
The setting of your dream, the time of your dream, people in the dream, emotions in the dream, any animals in the dream, major objects, major action

If someone is sharing their dream with you, make sure you push and get those details. They all mean something!!!

  2. Step 2

PICK OUT THE GLARING DETAILS - Were you a giant cake on display at a party? Did you see people coming at you with forks?

CONSIDER the saying, "Everyone wants a piece of me." In real life would you be stretched too thin.

Don't overlook the obvious in your dreams. Sometimes your brain will present things differently, to give you a clear picture of the issues at hand.

Wake up refreshed and ready to take on the world with your new perspective.

  3. Step 3

EVERYTHING MEANS SOMETHING ** - In your dream if you're going up , that's good - down is bad. If you're sick in a dream, consider visiting a doctor for a checkup.

Again, keep your dream dictionary handy and check out the definitions of items in your dreams.

** See step 4 for things in dreams that can be discounted

  4. Step 4

**DON'T TAKE THE DREAM TO SERIOUSLY IF - - -
    * You ate too much dinner or fell asleep on a full stomach
    * They can be attributed to a physical condition - rain, airplane noise, a dog tickling your nose, background music.
    * Some medicine can trigger different dreams.

  5. Step 5

VERY QUICK TUTORIAL on Dream Meanings:
    DEATH - passage, transformation
FLYING - where are you flying to? are you comfortable? it's about where you're going and how you plan on getting there
LOST SOMETHING - usually indicate a transition, or concern
TEETH FALLING OUT - this suggests you are stuck in a rut, do your homework
BABY - there is something growing inside of you, ambition or an idea

Tips & Warnings
  • Find a friend to interpret your dreams with. They are fun and can help you with the true issues in your life, maybe pointing out things you choose to ignore.
  • It's usually easier to interpret the dreams of another person instead of your own.
  • Don't go freaking people out.
  • Don't freak yourself out.
