    Ask your doctor about the option of surgery in severe cases.

  6. Step 6

    If you have rheumatoid arthritis, try to stay relaxed, as the condition can be triggered by emotional stress.

  7. Step 7

    Take aspirin to ease the pain.

  8. Step 8

    See a rheumatologist early - the disease can spread rapidly and cripple you if it isn't treated in the early stages.
