How to search for definitions on the web

When you have school projects or just need to find a word for work or other purposes, it is hard to find the time to look on 500 sites that do not give you the answer you want.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Internet
  • Google
  • Word or Words to Find
Step1
When you know the word you want, go to google (See Resources).
Step2
At the search bar, type "Define:" (With the colon)
Step3
Then, without a space, type the word you want and click "Search."
Step4
When you see the results, click "Web Definitions for (the word)." You will see your results.

Tips & Warnings

  • When you get your results, you can also click on the link on the bottom of each definition to see the site that found the definition.
  • Make sure you spell each word correctly
