Step1
To find your Zen moments, first gather the tools in front of you to see what is available to you. Shut the phone, the computer and all other electronic gadgets off. Get out of the car and off the bike. Perhaps you can sit at a picnic table under a tree.
Step2
Gathered tools are important. You might have items like this in your Zen box:
*shells, stones, a miniature Zen garden (homemade)
*Books by Thich Nhat Hanh, Max Lucado, Miguel Ruiz
*Soft music, perhaps classical, or any instrumentals
*Background sounds, from an electronic gadget-perhaps waves,
Places to visit:
*Beach
*Park
*Or some solitary place to be just with yourself
Step3
Now, do what is most peaceful to you.
Walk on the beach. Visit a park. Read a book by Thich Nhat Hanh. Read the Holy Bible. Look at soothing photographs. Concentrate on peace and put everything unpeaceful out of your mind for at least a short period at a time.
Accept the electronical. Even though as step one, I stated to turn everything off, if you are not a position to do that, the electronical aids can help you find your zen moment also.
I have placed a link in the Resource section. The link is a video about Thich Nhat Hanh's "Peace Is Every Step", walk. Watch the video when you have time.
If I were to have my own peace walk like that, I would change one thing. In that walk, I felt that everyone was walking too close to each other. So viewing the walk from a distance, it appeared to be a crowd or mob.
And crowds and mobs are never peaceful or aids to serenity. So when you have your own peace walk or when you participate in one, give yourself that extra space for the most perfect serenity. You can walk with others but do not have to be touching shoulder to shoulder.
Give the next person space, and they will give you space. Walk together but separately.
