The first thing you need to do is comb out the hair very good. Being sure to comb out all knots and tangles. Next completely soak the hair with baby oil, making sure to soak the scalp. After doing this put the shower cap on and leave on overnight. You will need to make sure to put an old towel on your pillow as some of the oil will leak out. Also you might think about putting an old t-shirt on too. The oil will not wash out of clothing.
Step2
The next morning you will need to throw the shower cap away. You will notice that their will be dead lice in the cap when you remove it. After doing that get in the tub and wash your hair with the Denorex. This will kill any and all eggs that are still on your hair. This will smell really strong so you will need to put another shower cap over it. Lather the Denorex shampoo very well and put on the shower cap. Leave the shampoo on for about 5-7 minutes. You will start to feel a really cold feeling on your head. That means its working. If you are putting this on a child only leave on 4-5 minutes. Be careful to not get this around the eyes as it is very strong. Make sure to rinse thoroughly. You will need to put a good conditioner on after using this. This shampoo will not only kill all the eggs but it will also help with the itching.
Step3
After shampooing and conditioning you will need to blowdry your hair on the hottest setting you can stand. Your going to still have to sit down and comb through tiny sections of hair and pick the eggs off one by one. No matter the remedy that you use you will still need to do this step of it. I know its slow and takes forever but you must do it. You will need to rewash with the shampoo on days 3, 7, and 10. Make sure to use a deep conditioner so you don't dry your hair out to bad. You will also need to comb through and recheck for eggs on those days.
Tips & Warnings
Make sure that you don't forget to wash all linens in HOT water and put in dryer for atleast 30 minutes. You will need to also put any stuffed animals in the dryer. I good way to kill any lice in your home is to leave home for the day and turn your air conditioning really low. The lice cannot live in a COLD environment. They will die after 24 hours of not having skin to cling to. Also, you may want to get a can of the spray and treat your car. A good way to prevent your kids from getting head lice at school is to wash their hair once a week in the Denorex or you can add some Tea Tree Oil to your shampoo. The lice do not like the Tea Tree Oil.
Do not use the Denorex on any children under the age of 2. If you have a child younger than two just do the baby oil treatment and do that every few days for about 2 weeks.
