How to Collect Clematis Seeds

Clematis is a showy shrub that grows in a variety of habitats. Collecting seeds from it is a great way to propagate the plant.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Clematis shrub
  • Collection container
  1. Step 1

    Identify those flowers with seedheads.

  2. Step 2

    Allow the seedheads to fully dry on the plant, without picking it.

  3. Step 3

    When the seedheads are dried, remove and collect the seeds.

Tips & Warnings
  • For germinating the seeds, presoak them for 12 hours in a dish with warm water and to help remove the outer coat.
