You can learn to umpire year round, and you can average over a 100 games a year.You will also become a need community figure, as well as dedicated full time umpire.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • plate shoes
  • face mask
  • shin guards
  • certifacation in officating for high school sports
  • hat
  • shirt,light blue and dark blue
  • gray slacks
  1. Step 1

    Buy your equipment shin guards, face mask,chest protector,base shoes, plate shoes, blue shirts, one light blue and one dark blue.

  2. Step 2

    Know your local leagues from high school and little leagues.

  3. Step 3

    Take a movement science college course in officiating at a local college

  4. Step 4

    Go to www.referee.com and subscribe to the magazine. It will keep you up to date on important information on officiating.

  5. Step 5

    Always manage your games with professionalism. Meaning keeping your temper, not being rude, knowing your rules. Believe it or not you are a role model for the players,parents and coaches.

  6. Step 6

    Finally get a planner for all those games you will be booking.

  • If conditioning is a problem,umpiring is not for you
  • temper problem,umpiring is not for you
  • not a good communicator, umpiring is not for you\
  • Make sure you are always fully equiped
