How to Clean Out Your Start Up Program in Windows XP

Every time you boot Windows XP, there are many programs that are in the startup menu that are not necessary and are resource wasters. Just follow these few steps to maximize all your resources where you want them.

Things You’ll Need:

• computer
• Windows XP operating system

1. Go to your start menu. Click start/run and type msconfig. (Do not use quotes)
2. A box entitled system configuration utility will pop up. Click on the startup tab.
3. Uncheck any program that does not need to start with windows.
4. Click Apply, ok, and then reboot.
