Every time you boot Windows XP, there are many programs that are in the startup menu that are not necessary and are resource wasters. Just follow these few steps to maximize all your resources where you want them.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • computer
  • Windows XP operating system

Step1
Go to your start menu. Click start/run and type msconfig. (Do not use quotes)
Step2
A box entitled system configuration utility will pop up. Click on the startup tab.
Step3
Uncheck any program that does not need to start with windows.
Step4
Click Apply, ok, and then reboot.

Tips & Warnings

  • Now your system should startup much faster!
