How to Travel Free How to Travel Free

No, I am not kidding, you really can travel free. You can actually travel to places you only dreamed or heard about and never pay a penny out of your own pocket for airfare or hotels. In most cases you do not have to pay for your meals, either. Let me tell you how.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Become a Flight Attendant. Flight Attendants fly around the world serving 2 – 4 meals and or refreshments (depending on the destination) and ensuring that paid passengers are comfortable and happy.
Step2
Become a pilot. Now, I have been told that most of the commercial airplane pilots are retired Air Force. This might be true, in fact, I hope it is true! I travel a lot and it gives me a feeling of comfort to know my pilot has military training. However, not all are ex-Air force, so become a pilot and get a job at a commercial airline.
Step3
Become a soldier. The most selfless and honorable job offered by any country. Soldiers travel to various places throughout their career. Consider the Air Force specifically. I can’t imagine why an airline wouldn’t give an ex-Air Force pilot a job, can you?
Step4
Become a Clinical or Manufacturing Auditor. I am a certified auditor in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry. I’ve been to St. Petersburg and Moscow Russia, Istanbul Turkey, Warsaw Poland, Barcelona Spain, Taipei Taiwan, Osaka Japan, Sofia Bulgaria, Canada, Nova Scotia and all but 10 of the United States in America. (I’m sure I missed a few places but you get my drift!) I have visited all of these places simply to conduct audits. Great hotels and great food without spending a picture.
Step5
Become a Clinical Research Associate. Just like the clinical auditor, the Clinical Research Associate goes wherever the clinical trials are conducted. Laws require that clinical trials be monitored and data be reviewed for accuracy, authenticity, completeness and correctness - that is what the Clinical Research Associate does. Most Clinical Research Associates travels anywhere form 75% to 95% of the time. The United States has taken many of our clinical research and manufacturing jobs outside of the country. Follow!
Step6
Hit the lottery! Once you hit the lottery, you can go and live anywhere in the world from all of those folks who played and didn’t win!

Tips & Warnings

  • Several jobs allow you to travel at a company’s expense. Find one and just do it!
  • Once you find a job where you travel, make time to enjoy your surroundings and new experiences.

on 7/25/2008 Another option, though not totally free, is arranging a home exchange with someone in a country you want to visit. There are a number of organizations that facilitate these.
