Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- Lots of love.
- Sling/Baby carrier.
- Co-Sleeper
Step1
There are several basics to attachment parenting. One of the first basic' s is bonding. It's important to let your baby know that you are there for them and they are not alone. Can you imagine how scary it must be to be thrown into this world helpless? Don't use the "cry it out" method. Your baby is crying for a reason and that reason needs to be addressed. Letting your child know that you are there for them will help build a strong independent child in the future.
Step2
Breastfeeding is another way to practice Attachment Parenting. Breastfeeding helps you and your baby bond. Not only do you bond but you provide essential immunities for your baby. Not everyone can breastfeed though so don't feel bad if you can't.
If you can't breastfeed you can still bond with your child when your bottle feeding him or her. Hold your baby close as if you are breastfeeding and mimic the same actions.
Step3
A baby learns a lot in the arms of his/her mother. Baby wearing is a simple and easy way to keep your baby close and less fussy! Ever notice when you put your baby down to do an errand the baby cries but once you pick them up they are fine? Why not wear your baby around. This helps stimulate the baby in an environment he/she will feel safe in. Didn't we all feel safer around our mother's? Invest in a sling or baby bjorn type of carrier. I suggest a sling for the ladies. This will inhibit strangers in trying to touch your baby while your in public. Baby wearing is not just for mommies, daddy's can join in on the fun too!
