How to Make Chair Pockets From Pillow Cases
Here's a really nifty idea: Make chair pockets out of new pillowcases. Chair pockets are great for holding and organizing items like books, magazines, reading glasses, or just about anything. These are wonderful in a child's room for keeping school books handy, for the sewing room to hold additional supplies and even for use with a beach chair to keep magazines, sunscreen and water bottles out of the sand. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need

1
Take your pillowcase and turn it wrong side out. The size of the back of your chair will determine what size pillowcase you will need.
-
2
Fold the pillowcase in half by folding the top or opening of the pillowcase down to meet the bottom. Get the corners even, and while holding the corners, shake it out to remove wrinkles and straighten.
-
-
3
If needed, stitch up each side from the bottom edge to the top to adjust the width. You may not need to do this if the pillowcase fits snug over the back of the chair.
-
4
Keeping one flap free, stitch across the bottom of the pillowcase sewing one of the flaps to the folded edge. Be sure you don't have both flaps sewn down.
-
5
Slide one opening of the pillowcase over the back of your chair and you've made a chair pocket!

This was awesome! Thank you so much! I am actually going to make the pillow cases myself if I can't find the fabric I want. I am a homeschooling mom whose children watch videos for distance learning and we aren't going to have a lot of table space for our daily folders, etc...so I can put these over the back of their chairs! We are creating a vintage-looking schoolroom, so I need to MAKE these storage pockets instead of purchasing them from a school supply store. I'll make a couple of practice ones first though! -
