1
Place green shamrocks all over your room as well as the windows of your home. Before St. Patrick's Day, these can be found at numerous stores in your area. You can save money by making your own green shamrocks, as well. Simply pick up some green construction paper and you can create shamrocks of any size.
-
2
Buy green beads and hang them throughout your home. You can use these beads in a variety of ways. Hang them in your doorways to create a makeshift curtain. Place tacks on your walls and place the beads around them, creating either shapes or even words if you wish.

3
Substitute your light bulbs for green lights. These are easy to find and can really give your home a St. Patrick's Day feel. You can also place green lamp shades over you light bulbs. This will also give your room a green tint.

4
Find small green rugs and place them in your home. These are relatively easy to find, especially during the weeks leading up to St. Patrick's Day. You could place these outside of the front door of your home as well as inside. You probably won't want to re-carpet your entire home in green. These small rugs will do the trick when decorating for St. Patrick's Day.

5
Buy St. Patrick's Day themed plastic cups, plates and napkins. Much like the shamrocks, these are very easy to find. Your local Dollar/99 cent store will definitely carry these weeks before St. Patrick's Day. Buying these items will both help you decorate for St. Patrick's Day and make cleanup a breeze as you can simply dispose of the cups, plates and napkins once you're through with them.

6
Use green food coloring for both food and beverages on St. Patrick's Day. Your local establishment will probably sell green beer on St. Patrick's Day. You can create this yourself with the green food coloring. Green eggs and ham could be a fun dish for you and your kids to enjoy on St. Patrick's Day. You may also want to bake goodies such as shamrock cookies. Have some fun with it as that's what St. Patrick's Day is all about.
