How to Knit a Reversible Four Stitch Check
This simple stitch requires a knowledge of how to do a knit and a purl stitch and leaves the knitter with a great looking, reversible design that is similar to a basketweave.

Choose the yarn you want to work with and needles that match the weight of your yarn (see yarn packaging for needle size suggestions).

Cast on your stitches in multiples of 8 in your preferred method of casting on (example: 8 x 4 = 32 stitches).

Rows 1, 2, and 3: Knit 4, Purl 4, repeat these 8 stitches to the end of the row.Rows 4, 5, and 6: Purl 4, Knit 4, repeat these 8 stitches to the end of the row.

Repeat these 6 rows until your piece reaches desired length.

Bind it off, preferably using the basic bind-off.
