Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • lacrosse stick
  • stove
  • freezer
  • thick wire
  1. Step 1

Get a thick wire or plastic-coated metal line and wrap it tightly around your head. Tighten it so that the head gets narrow near the pocket. This helps keep the ball in the netting.

  2. Step 2

Place the head over a stove burner that is turned on. Do this in the presence of a responsible adult. Use caution so that you don’t start a fire. The lacrosse stick head should be placed close enough to be heated so that the plastic turns soft.

  3. Step 3

Detach the lacrosse stick head from the stick. Perform this quickly so the head doesn’t cool.

  4. Step 4

Place the head in a freezer. Leave the head in the freezer for one hour or longer.

  5. Step 5

Reattach the head to the lacrosse stick. Be sure the reattach it in the same manner in which it was before it was removed.

  6. Step 6

Remove the thick wire. Your lacrosse stick head should now be permanently narrower.

Tips & Warnings
  • Practice with a spare lacrosse stick head or buy a new head to use. Overheating can deform your lacrosse head stick, so don’t lose your only head.
  • NCAA rules stipulate that the head must be at a minimum 6.5 inches wide.
