Things You'll Need:
- feet, bike, rollerblades
- car or a friend with a car

Step 1
Have fun on the lake. Winona Lake is a beautiful lake that has plenty of summer and winter pastimes available. Sailing, boating, swimming and canoeing are all summer options. Though you have to be careful where you fish, that's also an option. In the winter, ice fishing, ice skating and snowball fights are all fun options. Stay to watch the sunset--the colors of the setting sun over the lake are beautiful.
-
Step 2
Play some sports. In the parks along the lake you can play volleyball, tennis or basketball. You can also run around--or watch your kids run around--on the swings or the slides. Many people in the town bike or rollerblade, and it’s a great way to get around and have some fun. There are several bike trails, and the beautiful bridges that span the lake to the small island make traveling in this manner even more enjoyable. If you're a fan of golf, an out-of-the-way, but beautiful golf course is also in town.

Step 3
Visit the village at Winona. There are dozens of small artisan shops in downtown Winona Lake, selling jewelry, wooden silverware, paintings, photographs, pottery and other knickknacks. There are also several shops with delicious foods and snacks. And after a long day of shopping and looking, you can stop by the boathouse and have a delicious meal overlooking the lake.
-
Step 4
Check out the museums. Winona Lake has some museums, including the Billy Sunday Museum and the Reneker Museums, which tell about the history of the town--and Billy Sunday. There are often art shows in town, and the many artists love it when people come and look at their work.
-
Step 5
Venture into nearby Warsaw. In Warsaw, Indiana, right next to Winona Lake, there are plenty of places to visit, including a movie theater, bowling alley and a Steak 'n Shake. Center Park, located on Center Lake, has beautiful parks, gardens, an amphitheater and fountains where there are summer festivals, weddings and Christmas celebrations. The latter includes Christmas music and festive food during the holiday season.
