Step 1
Ensure that the date and time are correct on your unit. You can set the date and time by turning off the unit. Press the "SET" button until the date and time screen appears. You can then set each variable. Press "SET" after setting each date, minute and hour. This will lock in each value.
-
Step 2
Test your blood pressure each morning and evening. This will give your a baseline to use over the next 8 weeks. Your unit has separate memory values for morning and evening, and will automatically store each reading in the proper time slot. Your unit can store and recall up to 8 weeks of daily readings.
-
Step 3
Write down the values in your notebook each time you take your reading. This will give you something to which your doctor can refer when planning your treatment.
-
Step 4
Delete your memory. At the end of the 8 weeks of readings, you can delete the readings if you have them in your notebook. This will free up your memory to start fresh for your next two months of readings. To do this, turn off the unit and press the "SET" button until the "DELETE DATA" screen appears. Move the cursor over the the "YES" option to confirm the delete.
