Instructions

    • 1

Organize your tools and supplies listed above so everything is easily accessible to you. It is easiest to assemble a washer board toss game when you don't have to go searching for tools or pieces in the middle of the project

    • 2

Place the two 3-foot two by four pieces of wood parallel to each other. At the end of each two by four, use two of the shorter two by fours that are eight inches long each to form a rectangular frame.

    • 3

Use your drill and screws to attach the pieces of wood together. Use two screws at each corner for stability.

    • 4

Drill three holes in your plywood. The center of the top hole should be six inches below the top of the plywood. Each of the other hole centers should be five inches below the one above it. After you have three x's marking the holes you should drill them. Do this using your drill with a circular hole attachment. You should drill all the way through the plywood.

    • 5

Place the plywood on top of the wooden frame. Attach with screws every three to four inches along the frame.

    • 6

Glue the industrial rug to the top of your plywood. This step is optional, but does make your washer toss game look more professionally done and protect the playing surface. Industrial carpet is the very thin rug which you can slide objects along such as washer when they are tossed. If you can not find it, ask at your local hardware or carpentry store and they can help you.

    • 7

Take a pocket knife and carve out the holes on the rug that are above the holes on the plywood. This is done easiest by flipping the frame upside down. You can also use scissors, or a carpet knife. Whichever of these tools you have available will work.

    • 8

Place the remaining two by fours on the underside of the playing surface between the top hole and the middle one, and the middle hole and the bottom hole. Attach with screws. This will stabilize the board for players to stand on it.

    • 9

Repeat steps two through seven if you want to use two washer toss boards in your game. Washer toss can be played with one or two boards.

    • 10

Paint three washers one color, and the other three another color. Once these are dry, you are ready to play with your newly constructed washer toss game.

Tips & Warnings

  • Washer toss games can be played with one or two washer toss boards. To save money you might just want to make one washer toss board first and see how it turns out. If you then decide it would be easier to play with two boards, you can make an additional washer toss board.

  • Make sure you put the stabilizing two by fours on under the frame between the holes. If you do not, it will not be able to hold the weight of adults standing on it when they toss their washers at the other washer board.
