As computers continue to get faster, and are capable of processing far more information and at much higher speeds, the many functions that graphic design programs offer have become greatly improved. Now adding sleek 3D images and effects to photos in a graphic design program is simple.

      Open the application. You will need to left-click on the application icon in order to open the program.

      Load the photo. To open a photo for editing, click on the “File” tab and scroll to “Open”; browse to the photo and open it.

      Add desired 3D effects. Once the photo is opened you can easily add a variety of 3D effects to it. Scroll to the “Effects” tab on the command bar; a submenu will open. Scroll to “3D Effects”; a submenu will open. You can add several effects to your photo: Buttonize, chisel, cutout, drop shadow, and inner bevel. When you select a 3D effect to add, it will open an effects box. Set the intensity of the effect (1-10) and then check-mark any other desired options; there will be several for each effect. All you have to do to implement the effect is click “OK”.

      Save the photo. Once you have added the desired 3D effects, save your photo by using the hotkeys “CTRL+S” which will save the file.

Tips & Warnings

  • Play around with all of the 3D features and sizes, there are a wide variety of them and they all serve as different functions.

  • Always save a back-up copy of the photo that you are editing in case you make any mistakes.
