You may not know that there are things you can do during sex to better the odds that you’ll get pregnant. These things range from the clothing you wear to the amount of times you have sex.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Ovulation predictor test
  • Lingerie
  • Pillow

Step1
Purchase an ovulation predictor test from your local drugstore or pharmacy. These tests show you exactly when you’re ovulating, which means you’ll know when your body is releasing eggs. If you have sex during this time period, you’re more likely to get pregnant.
Step2
Wear sexy lingerie during sex or at least wear something that you feel comfortable and sexy wearing. This helps keep the sex fun and exciting instead of being a cumbersome activity that you and your partner have to do. It also lets you focus on what you're doing instead of why you're doing it.
Step3
Increase the frequency or amount of times you and your partner have sex. According to the Mayo Clinic, having regular sex with your partner can increase your chances of getting pregnant. Practice makes perfect and the more you practice, the greater your odds are for getting pregnant. Try having sex at least 2 or 3 times per week or even more if you have the time and stamina.
Step4
Use a pillow to prop up your lower back during sex, with the woman on the bottom and the man on the top. Some people claim that the idea of this position increasing the chances of pregnancy is an old wives' tale, but many people claim it worked for them. The pillow will prop up your body and help to direct the sperm.
Step5
Have an orgasm during intercourse if you really want to increase your chances of getting pregnant. When a woman has an orgasm, the cervix becomes stimulated and dilated, which pushes more sperm into the opening. The more sperm that gets in, the better your chances are for getting pregnant. Herbal specialist Susun Weed encourages her older patients who are trying to get pregnant to experience an orgasm to increase their chances.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you really want to have sex to get pregnant, make sure to have sex during the first two days of your ovulation period. During this time your body is at its most fertile, which increases your chances of getting pregnant.
  • Don’t use anything that is scented or flavored during intercourse. This means tampons, lubricants and even douches. These products can remove the sperm or kill it, which will actually decrease your chances of getting pregnant.
