How to Order Food in Spanish Language
Would you like to feel more comfortable ordering food in Spanish or communicating basic needs in a restaurant in the Spanish language? Learning a few phrases and then practicing them each time you visit a restaurant will help you to learn a new language.

The server may say, "Que querria?" This means, "What would you like." You may respond, "Quiero...." This means, "I will have...." and then state the menu item you would like.

Drinks are called "las bebidas" and the entree is called "el primer plato." If you would like dessert, you might say, "Quiero el postre."

The water pitcher is called "una jarra de agua" and the menu is called "el menu."

If you need to ask where the restroom is, simply say, "Donde estan los servicios?"

When it is time to ask for the check, you might say, "Quiero la cuenta." Be sure to leave a tip, "la propina" for your waiter "el camarero"!

If your waiter speaks Spanish, they will appreciate that you are trying to communicate and will likely assist you with pronunciation

For practical purposes, Quiero = Key arrow postre = post tray el menu = L men oo una jarra de aqua = oo nah jahggra day ahg wah (the double r sounds a little like grrr) las bebidas = lahss bay bee thas (a "d" in the middle of a word sounds like the "th" in there) el primer plato = L pree mare plah toe Donde estan los servicios = thon day ess tahn lowss sair bee cee oss (a "v" in the middle of a word sounds like a "b")
